.... And many things in between!
My photos inform my paintings. My painting influence my photographs.
The rest is magic.
The magic of horses, our relationships with them, and those moments when we understand their generosity and their tolerance of us.
The magic of the land and sea and sky, and how we might decode their spells, if only we listen.
The magic of color and light. edges and values, and the illusions we weave with them.
The strange alchemy of technology, how it blends all media and styles in its cauldron and transforms them into new potions of creating and interpreting.
The magic of the "off" button, of quietly stepping to the easel armed with only paintbrushes and pigments.
I blend the digital and the analog, what is visible and what is below the surface.
I graduated from New York's School of Visual Arts. There, I was blessed to study with a Who's Who of artists of the era, and to inhale all the art of the city's museums. I spent weekends teaching riding lessons, riding horses, or photographing them. Now, in between commissioned paintings, fine art paintings, photo excursions and photo portrait sessions, I continue to photograph equestrian sports, and once in a while I get to climb into the saddle, too!
My art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products.
